Summer Reading

I have spent a lot of time reading this summer! I LOVE to read and since I was able to take the summer off, that's exactly what I did! I started with the Bride Quartet... Fabulous books!

A set of 4 books about 4 best friends who own a wedding business. I really liked each book; they were easy reads and definately for a girly-girl!
I also really like Emily Giffin, and she has some great books out... Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and Baby Proof.

All of these are fabulous! I haven't seen Something Borrowed, but if the movie is anything like the book, I NEED to see it! I especially loved Baby Proof. At first I was a little skeptical, but it is a must read.
I just finished Twenties Girl.

It was a little strange, but I enjoyed the read. I'm not a big fan of ghosts/ghost stories, but this book had a much deeper meaning... maybe even brought a little tear...
Up next is The Help. I have heard nothing but great things about this one, and I can't wait to get started. I am going to read it this weekend and be ready to see the movie in a few weeks!

Happy Birthday, Matt!

I'm a few days late, but better late than never! Happy Birthday to my fabulous husband! He turned 25 Sunday. We had a taco bar and drinks, then Matt and Zak decided to SCUBA dive in the pool. They are goof balls, but had a great time. I'm thinking I may need to get certified so I can dive with them!

Matt had a great birthday... He got this really cool HOG from his really cool wife... :)
He also got to spend some QT with this little cutie...
Hope everyone had a Happy 4th!

Los Cabos

We had such a great time in Cabo last week! Matt and I met my mom and dad there for the week, and we hung out, caught up, and had lots of little drinks with umbrellas! :)
We had pictures made on the beach. Most of our time was spent being lazy by the pool, but we also did lots of fun stuff away from the resort. We Zip-Lined through the dessert, then repelled from 180 feet.
Our last night we rode ATVs through the dessert and out by the ocean. We had amazing views!
I have never been so dusty in my life! After the tour, we had homemade quesadillas and cold beer!
We went into Cabo San Lucas 2 nights, and we had a great dinner on the marina. The waiters were so nice and fun! They made our food right by our table. We couldn't have asked for better weather!
We were sad to see our week end... I will miss this view!

Summertime!

I'm still alive! It has been a CrAzY month for the Wilkins! After NYC, we settled back in to somewhat of a routine... Matt finished his 2nd year of law school (with great grades!) and I finished up my assignment for work.
Somewhere in between, Zak came to visit and Matt and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary at Fahrenheit in Tremont. It was WONDERFUL!
When Zak was visiting, we went to an Indian's baseball game, which was a lot more exciting this year since they are winning!

We had great seats... and the Indians won!

We are in Russellville for most of the summer. Matt is working at Wilkins Brothers and I am relaxing! I love getting to see Jeremy, Jax, and Emily so much!
Uncle Matt LOVES this little girl!

I have been to WM to see my family for a few days, and we are planning another trip soon! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

New York, New York

We had an amazing weekend away in NYC! Matt picked me up at work Thursday and we headed to the airport. Unfortunately, all flights out to NY were cancelled due to the bad weather all over the country. So, Matt talked the Delta people into booking us out of Detroit, and off we went! We drove straight from the airport to Detroit and caught the last flight out! We arrived really late at our hotel... and ordered room service! Yum! Friday we were up early. Matt went to a conference with his dad, and I met up with his mom and Mrs. Pam for a full day of shopping! Macy's, lunch, Soho, and shopping, shopping, shopping! I could have stayed all day at the shoe department in Macy's! That night we saw Memphis on Broadway. I think it is the best play I have seen!

Saturday, we went to 5th Avenue. My fave! ;) After some shopping, we took a carriage ride through Central Park. It was a beautiful day in the big city!

We ate at the most fabulous restaurant, The Lincoln, which is right across the street from Juilliard.

We came home Sunday and took a really long nap! A quick trip going full speed got the best of us! :)

Random

We have so much going on the next few weeks. Matt is gearing up for his finals- One more year! We are having a low key Easter because he will be studying... Then, we're off to NYC for a few days. I am looking forward to a few days away, and a play on Broadway, of course :) I'm also hoping for a little shopping!
Zak is coming to visit in May... An Indians baseball game, good food and drinks, and relaxation are in the works for that weekend!
Matt and I are also celebrating our 2nd Anniversary in May! I can't believe it's almost been 2 years!

This has been a completely random post, but oh well!
One more thing- My cousin, Natalie, and her husband are expecting their first baby in November! I am so excited for them!

Lola

One of our favorite places in Cleveland is Lola. AMAZING. Michael Symon opened this restaurant on East 4th downtown, and it is almost impossible to get in for dinner. Luckily, Matt found an opening on Open Table yesterday afternoon, and we jumped on the reservations! The food is fabulous, and the wine list... well, let's just say it goes on and on and on! Italian Reds are our favorites, so we shared a bottle of Brunello di Montacino.
I always forget my camera when we go out to dinner, so this one is from my phone. We had an appetizer and drinks, dinner and wine, and dessert. Yummy! :)
